Where It Started
When my dad Vince and I started SMP in 2002, we had a name he came up with: "Success is what we're about, mortgages are what we do, and partners are how we like to treat each other." It wasn't a branding exercise. It was the whole philosophy. More than twenty years later, after growing from two employees to over 500 across 45 states, I'm more convinced than ever that it's the right one.

Four Kinds of Partnership
The book walks through four areas of partnership that have shaped my career — business to loan officer, business to team, business to business, and business to industry — with a bonus chapter on technology. Along the way, you'll hear from people like my partner Kevin Broughton, who wrote the foreword, as well as Sue Meitner, Holly Walther, Carl White, Dale Vermillion, Tony Jeary, and many others who have taught me what partnership really means. You'll also meet the people who built SMP from the inside, like Madonna Blanchard and Allison Johnston.
